Yes, Val Vertova and its trails are open for visits 365 days a year. However, during the summer period, access is limited to 1,400 people per day, and a ticket is required to visit the valley between 08:00 and 17:00.
This helps us preserve both the natural habitat of Val Vertova and your safety.
During the summer period, access is limited to 1,400 visitors per day, to protect the environment and promote greater safety for everyone. Check the updated availability and book your pass online in the Buy Ticket section.
In previous summer seasons, there were peaks of over 3,000 visitors per day: it’s easy to see how overcrowding can pose a threat to the safety of hikers and the natural balance of the valley. For this reason, access is now regulated with a maximum daily entry limit.
In case of a yellow or orange weather alert, access to Val Vertova is not allowed for safety reasons. At the entrance to the valley, there is a traffic light system: if the light is red, access is prohibited.
If you have an active booking for a day with a weather alert, you will automatically be invited to reschedule your visit to a different date.
A ticket is required to enter the valley only during the summer period. This measure aims to prevent overcrowding, thereby protecting the delicate natural environment of the area and ensuring your safety. During the rest of the year, access is free and unrestricted.

Note: The dispenser issues a limited number of daily access tickets (max 400). We recommend purchasing your ticket online in advance to ensure you can visit Val Vertova with peace of mind.

The ticket must be shown to the staff authorized by the Municipality of Vertova, present at the two access points:

Via Cinque Martiri no. 63, from Monday to Saturday;

Via Cinque Martiri no. 26, on Sundays.
The ticket must also be shown on the shuttle for those who choose to use it.
The ticket is non-refundable.
However, you can postpone the date of your visit up to 24 hours before the initially selected day. Rescheduling can be done only once and within the same season. Simply log into your reserved area (using the credentials received when purchasing the ticket) and choose the new date of your interest.
Note: Rescheduling is only allowed if, at the time of purchasing the ticket, you chose to register your account. If you purchased the access ticket as a “guest,” you will not be able to change the date.
The ticket grants access on foot or by bike to the naturalistic trail of Val Vertova. The ticket does not allow car access (except for people with disabilities, see below). You can also add a shuttle ticket to your entry ticket, valid for a round-trip journey from the parking areas to the entrance of the valley.
Access to Val Vertova is free for people with disabilities: by selecting the appropriate ticket, it is possible to receive up to three free entries (person with a disability + 2 companions).
Additionally, access by car to the entrance of the valley is allowed (restricted to other visitors during the summer period). Enter the vehicle’s license plate during the ticket booking process and remember to display the disability permit in a visible manner.
Because during the summer, access is limited to 1,400 people per day, and by selecting the date of your visit in advance, you guarantee access to the valley on the day you prefer. We remind you that you can postpone the date up to 24 hours before the booked day (only if you have registered an account).
The ticket is valid for a single entry, on the selected date. It is not possible to exit and re-enter with the same pass.
No, you don’t need to print your ticket: simply show the QR code received via email directly from your smartphone!
You can also purchase the daily access ticket at the dispenser located in the parking area at Largo Vittorio Veneto, Vertova (BG). If you encounter issues with the online purchase due to a platform malfunction, please report it to info@vallevertova.it.
The trail is not demanding, but it is similar to a mountain path. We recommend wearing comfortable sports clothing and trekking or sports shoes with good grip. Avoid flip-flops or sandals.
Yes, you can immerse yourself in the cool waters of the valley! However, diving into the pools is forbidden because their bottom is uneven and dangerous.
No, in order to protect the ecosystem, camping and lighting fires or barbecues are not allowed in any area of the valley.
Yes, there are portable toilets both along the path leading to the entrance of the valley and at the beginning of the trail.
Yes, at the beginning of the main trail, there are two refreshment points where you can stop to eat or have a drink.
Yes, picnics are allowed, so you can enjoy the natural beauty of the valley. There are no equipped areas, but you will find many peaceful spots where you can have your meal in relaxation.
We remind you that it is strictly forbidden to leave trash behind: respect nature and help us protect our beautiful valley!
No, the trail is not suitable for strollers (we also discourage the use of trekking strollers). For young children, we recommend using a baby carrier backpack.
The hiking trail is not suitable for strollers or mobility aids. However, people with disabilities can access the entrance to Val Vertova by car and enjoy the first part of the valley.
If it starts raining while you’re visiting Val Vertova, head back to the beginning of the trail. In case of heavy downpours, with a rise in the stream’s water level, avoid the fords and wait for the situation to improve before continuing.

Access to the valley is only allowed on foot or by bike (year-round). Additionally, during the summer, the road to Val Vertova (Via Cinque Martiri, from house number 63) is not accessible by car or motorcycle.
You can park your vehicle in the four convenient parking areas available for visitors (in the town of Vertova) and continue your hike from there. You can also use the shuttle service that takes you from the parking areas to the entrance of the valley (purchase your seat along with your entry ticket).

People with disabilities are exempt from the ZTL upon registering their license plate during the purchase of the daily ticket.
From the parking areas to the entrance of the valley (Via Cinque Martiri, no. 63), it takes about 45-60 minutes of leisurely walking. The route goes through the center of Vertova and allows you to explore its surroundings.
Alternatively, a shuttle is available to take you from the parking areas to the entrance of the valley: purchase the round-trip ticket along with your daily passes!

Yes, there is a round-trip shuttle that takes you from the parking areas to the entrance of the valley, available from June to September. You can purchase the ticket online while buying your entry passes for Val Vertova (the shuttle cannot be purchased separately). Pets are not allowed on board. The shuttle runs frequently, approximately every 30 minutes.
Yes, you can arrive in Vertova by camper/van and use the public parking areas (subject to the size of the vehicle). Currently, there are no specific equipped areas for camper parking in the parking zone.
If you are a resident of the Municipality of Vertova, you are entitled to purchase a seasonal ticket at the cost of €2.00.

Residents of Valle Vertova are entitled to a free pass for vehicle circulation. You can apply for it:

Online, in the Tickets section, by selecting Valle Vertova Residents (the application is usually processed within 10 days, after which you can schedule an appointment at the Town Hall to collect the pass);

In paper format, directly at the Vertova Town Hall.
The pass is personalized and must be requested by one member of the household, who can then add the other family members to the same pass so they are authorized to drive with the same license plate.
Each household may also request 3 additional passes, linked to different license plates.
No, they are two separate passes:
- the pedestrian pass for residents grants access to Val Vertova;
- the car pass allows residents who live along the road within the restricted traffic zone (ZTL) to drive through by car.
